1 Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing ,the YA Special Regulations Part 2, For Off the Beach Boats, the rules of the International Moth Class Association (IMCA), except as any of these are altered by this Notice of Race and by the Sailing Instructions.
1.2 Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two Turns Penalty is replaced by the One Turn Penalty.
2 Advertising
2.1 Advertising shall be permitted in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.
2.2 The Organizing Authority may require all participating boats to display event sponsor's advertising.
3 Eligibility and Entry
3.1 Eligible boats shall be current financial members of the International Moth Class Association
3.2 Only current financial members of IMCA NSW will be eligible for the NSW Championship and the NSW perpetual trophies. Non NSW members will be awarded prizes for the overall result as applicable.
3.3 The helmsperson named on the boat's entry form shall be the same for all races of the regatta.
3.4 Competitors aged under 19 years of age on the 31st December 2012 shall be classified as Juniors, and shall be eligible for the Junior Moth Championship.
3.5 Competitors 40 years of age or over on the 31st December 2012 shall be classed as Masters, and shall be eligible for the Masters Moth Championship.
4 Fees
4.1 The entry fee for the regatta is $80. This includes a BBQ dinner on the final day before the presentation.

The closing date for entries is 11am Friday 30th March 2012.
5 Schedule of Events
5.1 The following schedule will be followed, except if modified by the sailing instructions:

BBQ and Presentation |
On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after 1700 hours.
5.2 Sailing Instructions will be provided at registration at Teralba Amateur Sailing Club.
6 Measurement
Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate at registration. The regatta measurer, the IMCA executive committee, or authorised deputies may carry out measurement and safety checks on any boat at any time during the regatta.
7 Regatta Site and Sailing Area
The regatta site is at Teralba Amateur Sailing Club, First Street Booragul. The sailing area will be the northern end of Lake Macquarie.
8 Courses
The courses will be windward leeward as described in the Sailing Instructions. There will be provision for a shorter course for non-foiling moths.
9 Scoring
9.1 The Low Points Scoring System will be used.
9.2 6 races are scheduled of which 3 shall be completed to constitute a series.
9.3 When fewer than 6 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of all her race scores.
9.4 When 6 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
9.5 All entrants will be scored together. The best scores in each category will be eligible for the various prizes and championships.
10 Prizes
Prizes may be awarded in the following categories subject to numbers:
Open Champion
NSW Champion
NSW Junior Champion
NSW Masters Champion
NSW First Female
NSW First Scow/Non-Foiler
11 Buoyancy
Whilst sailing, all competitors shall wear a personal flotation device (buoyancy vest) which is in good condition and is in accordance with the specifications issued or approved by a national authority affiliated to ISAF, or a standards organisation or certification authority, recognised for the purpose by its respective government. Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 1.2
12 Support Boats/Coaches
All support boats shall keep 100 m clear of the course area during racing, except boats provided by the organising authority or when asked to assist by the Race Committee.
13 Radio Communications
A boat shall neither make radio transmission whist racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This requirement also applies to mobile telephone communications.
14 Rights to Use Name & Likeness
In participating in this Event, a competitor automatically grants to the Organising Authorities and the sponsors of this Event, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show, from time to time and at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or film television and other reproductions of him/her during the period of the competition for the said Event in which the competitor participates and in all material related to the said Event, without compensation.
15 Entry Disclaimer
15.1 It is the competitor's decision to enter the Event or to start and continue in any race. Competitors shall accept that their participation in the Event is at their exclusive risk in every respect. By way of entry in the Event, competitors shall indemnify the Organising Authorities, and the Host Club, their officers, members, servants and agents in respect to all claims and demands of whatever nature which may be made upon them in connection with or howsoever arising form their participation or intended participation in the Event.
15.2 Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 4, which states: "The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone".
15.3 The Organising Authorities, and the Host Sailing Club, their officers, members, servants and agents accept no responsibility in respect of loss of life, personal injury or loss or damage to property which may be sustained by reason of their participation or intended participation in the Event or howsoever arising in connection with the Event.
16 Insurance
All competing boats competing in the International Moth Class Australian Championships Regatta, shall have third party insurance cover (which includes cover under racing conditions) of not less than AUD$10,000,000 or equivalent thereof in any other currency for any accident. All owners/competitors who sign the Entry Form are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover. Competitors may be required to produce evidence of such insurance.

Every yacht competing shall hold a Valid Measurement Certificate, be a financial member of a national IMCA, and be a member of a club affiliated with the Yachting Association of their respective State/Prefecture.
